Whisky Lovers Rejoice: Fukurokuju, the 5th Instalment in Chichibu’s 7even Gods of Fortune Line, Has Arrived
Salud Spirits, a renowned drinks distributor based in the Netherlands, has just released Fukurokuju, the fifth whisky in its impressive 7even Gods of Fortune line. This exceptional single-cask bottling is crafted by the esteemed Chichibu Whisky.
Like its predecessors in the series, Fukurokuju is named after one of the seven gods of fortune in Japanese mythology - the god of wealth and longevity. The series, which debuted in 2022 with Ebisu (god of luck), is expected to conclude in 2025 with two further bottlings.
The God of Wealth and Longevity
The Fukurokuju single-cask release has been matured for eight years in a first-fill bourbon barrel, resulting in a rich and complex flavour profile. With only 188 bottles released, bottled at cask strength of 61% ABV, this is a rare opportunity for connoisseurs to experience something truly unique. The brand’s tasting notes highlight green apple, roses, icing sugar, oliebollen, and tropical fruit.
‘When I was approached by this wonderful whisky brand, I was immediately enthusiastic. It’s an honour to contribute to the total customer experience and for me, it’s the ultimate way to bring my art alive.’ - Robbin Snijders, digital artist and NFT designer WARBB, on designing the packaging for Fukurokuju.

In a special philanthropic effort, one bottle of Fukurokuju will be auctioned by Salud Spirits, alongside other Chichibu bottlings, including a Red Wine Cask 2023 and a Spirits of Salud release. The auction, to be held at the Japanese Consulate in the Hague, will raise money for Second Harvest Japan.
