The World of Whisky: New Releases and Innovations
The world of whisky is constantly evolving, with new releases and innovations popping up left and right. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the latest developments in the world of whisky, from new releases to cutting-edge technology.
Bonnington Distillery’s Latest Release
Bonnington Distillery, a Lowland Single Malt, has just released a new sherry cask matured whisky. This limited release is rich, fruity, and warming, with a long finish. According to Jamie Lockhart, distillery manager at Bonnington Distillery, “I am delighted to follow up our inaugural launch with this delicious sherry cask release. The liquid itself is something that we’re really proud of – aged in Pedro Ximénez Casks and cut at 47% it’s bold, rich, and full of flavor.”
The Smashing Pumpkins Bourbon
FEW Spirits, a craft distillery based in Evanston, IL, has collaborated with The Smashing Pumpkins on a new bourbon. This bourbon is cut to proof with black tea instead of water, giving it a unique flavor profile. The bourbon starts out as the core bourbon expression, made from a mashbill of 70% corn, 20% rye, and 10% malted barley. After aging for four years, it was cut from cask strength to 93 proof before bottling with Midnight Rose black tea from Madame Zuzu’s Emporium, a tea shop run by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and his wife Chloé Mendel Corgan.
