The Whiskey World is Abuzz with the Latest Release from Buffalo Trace

As a whiskey enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for the next big thing. And let me tell you, the latest release from Buffalo Trace Distillery has got everyone in the whiskey world talking. The E.H. Taylor collection has just welcomed a new addition to its lineup, and I couldn’t be more excited.

The iconic Buffalo Trace Distillery

For those who may not know, Buffalo Trace is the powerhouse behind some of the most coveted whiskey brands on the market, including Pappy Van Winkle, Weller, Eagle Rare, Blanton’s, George T. Stagg, and of course, Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. So, when they release a new whiskey, it’s a big deal.

Uncut & Unfiltered: The New E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof Rye

The new whiskey is the 13th addition to the E.H. Taylor family and is essentially a combination of the Barrel Proof Bourbon and Straight Rye. Made from the same mashbill as E.H. Taylor Straight Rye, this uncut and unfiltered rye whiskey is bottled straight from the barrel at a hefty cask strength of 126 proof (63% ABV).

E.H. Taylor Whiskey

According to Buffalo Trace, the whiskey has a nose of white pepper and candied apricot with additional nutty and floral notes, a palate that tastes like sweet stone fruit with pepper and dry oak, and a finish that’s full, long-lasting, and honey-sweet. Sounds like a winner to me!

Pricing and Availability

The Colonel E. H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Rye is priced at $78 for a 750mL bottle, which sounds reasonable until you remember that Buffalo Trace SRPs are mere formalities. In reality, this bottle will likely sell for multiples of its retail price, and that’s if you can even find a bottle. The new whiskey is a limited release, so it’s going to be even harder to track down than your typical E.H. Taylor bottle.

A whiskey collection fit for a king

As I sit here, sipping on my own whiskey collection, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. Will I be able to get my hands on a bottle of this elusive whiskey? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure - the whiskey world is abuzz with the latest release from Buffalo Trace, and I’m right there with them.
