The Whisky World Unveils Its Most Luxurious Creations
The world of whisky has witnessed a surge in luxury releases, with top brands unveiling their most exclusive and expensive creations. From The Dalmore’s Luminary Series to WhistlePig’s 25-Year-Old Badönkadonk, these limited-edition whiskies are redefining the art of whisky-making.
The Dalmore Luminary Series: A Masterclass in Luxury
The Dalmore, in collaboration with V&A Dundee, has introduced its Luminary Series, a collection of rare and exquisite whiskies. The two-part release features The Rare and The Collectible, both aged Highland single malt whiskies presented in a stunning glass amber sculpture and collectable presentation. The Dalmore Luminary – The Rare – 2024 Edition will be auctioned off, with all proceeds donated to Scotland’s design museum.
“This limited edition celebrates the relentless pursuit of excellence from The Dalmore whisky makers and celebrates the journey of craft and exploration that has culminated in a very special one-of-a-kind flavour profile.” - Janice McIntosh, Managing Director Global Travel Retail
The Dalmore Luminary Collectible Edition is available now at leading luxury and specialist retailers globally, with a limited allocation for the GTR channel. The liquid incorporates a small amount of exceptionally rare peated Dalmore spirit, matured in Bourbon casks and finished in a blend of Graham’s Tawny Port pipes and Apostoles sherry casks, with a small portion in peated, hand-selected, ex-refill Bourbon casks.
Mount Gay Eclipse Navy Strength: A New Chapter
Mount Gay has released a navy-strength version of its Eclipse rum, bottled at 57.1% ABV. This limited-edition rum has been aged longer and bottled at a higher proof than the standard expression. With no colour or sugar added, it boasts notes of vanilla, cardamom, and leather on the nose and roasted pineapple, mocha, sea salt, and passionfruit on the palate.
WhistlePig’s 25-Year-Old Badönkadonk: A New Frontier
WhistlePig has pushed the boundaries of whisky-making with its 25-Year-Old Badönkadonk, the oldest single malt ever made in North America. Aged for a quarter century in new American oak barrels, this single malt was then finished in cabernet sauvignon barrels from Silver Oak Cellars in California. Bottled at 45.5% ABV, it boasts a palate of stone fruits, cedar wood, and a hint of discord.
“The Badönkadonk juxtaposes a silly name with a serious expression.” - WhistlePig
These luxury releases are redefining the world of whisky, showcasing the art of craftsmanship and the pursuit of excellence. Whether you’re a connoisseur or a newcomer, these exclusive creations are sure to impress.
