Lost Lantern Unveils 9 New Bottlings for Summer 2024

Lost Lantern, an independent bottler of American whiskey, has introduced a collection of curated bottles from distilleries across the country. This release includes nine whiskies from twelve states across all three of its product lines: the second edition of Lost Lantern’s multi-distillery blend, Far-Flung Bourbon II; their Single Distillery Series, Mississippi Memory; and seven single cask releases.

Two of these come from returning Lost Lantern partners: Corbin Cash in California and Boulder Spirits in Colorado. The other five are all first-time Lost Lantern partners: Woodinville Whiskey Co. in Washington, Union Horse Distilling Co. in Kansas, High Wire Distilling Co. in South Carolina, Leiper’s Fork Distillery in Tennessee, and Rock Town Distillery in Arkansas.

“This year, we want to encourage whiskey lovers to keep exploring the increasingly wide world of bourbon, in all the forms that it takes from coast to coast,” says Nora Ganley-Roper, Co-Founder of Lost Lantern.

Summer of Bourbon II shines a light on the true variety and depth that great bourbon can have.

The collection will be released in two tranches. On Thursday, June 20, Lost Lantern blends Far Flung Bourbon II and Mississippi Memory will go on sale. On Thursday, July 11, Lost Lantern Summer of Bourbon II Single Casks will be available for sale.

Whiskies in the collection will be available for purchase online at LostLanternWhiskey.com and Seelbachs.com, at select retailers in New York and California, and in the Lost Lantern tasting room in Vergennes, VT. As always, the collection comes at cask strength, non-chill-filtered, and with no color added.

Iconic Canadian whisky brand, Crown Royal, is broadening its horizons with the release of the new Crown Royal single malt Canadian whisky expression. Known for its well-loved blend and flavored whiskies, this venture marks Crown Royal’s first foray into the single malt whisky market.

Bottled at 45% ABV, the Crown Royal Single Malt features aromas of “creamy vanilla and fruity banana” on the nose. On the palate, expect notes of “caramel, apple, and baking spices, finishing with lingering hints of spice and warming cinnamon.”

Is Single-Malt Whisky Still Special?

With single-malt whiskies popping up all over the world, is it still special? The proliferation of single malt whiskies on a global scale will naturally lead to an overall reduction in quality in the category as a whole. However, some single malts will always be special, while others… not so much.
