To create this new bourbon, Spirit Hound’s Master Distiller Craig Engelhorn tasted countless bourbons before finding the perfect partner for the project. The result is a bourbon that’s been finished in freshly emptied barrels of award-winning Spirit Hound American Single Malt Whisky. This unique finishing process gives the bourbon a distinct “Spirit Hound Soul.”

What’s in the Bottle?

Barrel Project Bourbon boasts a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley, aged in fresh American white oak barrels with a #4 char and a level #3 barrel head char. The finishing process in Spirit Hound’s American Single Malt Whisky barrels adds a layer of complexity and depth to the bourbon.

With Barrel Project Bourbon, Spirit Hound Distillers is offering its fans a consistent year-round bourbon option. But don’t worry, the distillery is still committed to producing its prized in-house bourbon, with the next release scheduled for September. This means that fans will have the opportunity to experience two distinct bourbon offerings from Spirit Hound Distillers.
