Whiskey and Fantasy: A Match Made in Heaven?

As a whiskey enthusiast and a fan of fantasy tabletop games, I never thought I’d see the day when the two would come together in perfect harmony. But, thanks to the innovative minds behind Find Familiar Spirits, that day has finally arrived. Quest’s End, a new whiskey brand inspired by the world of Dungeons & Dragons, is set to release its first expression, Paladin, in November.

A new era of whiskey and fantasy

In an interview with USA TODAY, Matthew Lillard, actor, gaming entrepreneur, and co-founder of Find Familiar Spirits, explained the inspiration behind Quest’s End. “Dungeons & Dragons is a story you can play year after year, and campaigns can take a long amount of time. Whiskey is crafted over time and has a story that goes with it. It seems to be a sort of perfect combination.”

Lillard, along with his friends and fellow whiskey enthusiasts, Tim Sparapani and Justin Ware, formed Find Familiar Spirits to bring this unique concept to life. The result is a whiskey that’s not only delicious but also tells a story.

Quest’s End: Paladin will be available for presale on October 4, with online sales opening to the public on October 6. And, if you’re as excited as I am, you’ll be thrilled to know that subsequent releases, including Rogue, Warlock, and Dragon, are scheduled for 2024.

But Quest’s End isn’t the only new whiskey on the block. Other recent releases include Eric Church’s Whiskey JYPSI, Rod Stewart’s Wolfie’s Blended Scotch Whisky, Metallica’s Blackened x Rabbit Hole, Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door “Homesick Blues” Minnesota Wheated Bourbon, Duke Spirits’ Grand Cru Bourbon Founder’s Reserve, and Cynthia Bailey and Seagram’s Escapes Berry Mimosa.
