As I sit down to write about Ramsbury Distillery, I am filled with excitement and anticipation. This Wiltshire-based distillery, known for its London Dry Gin and Estate Vodka, is about to embark on a new journey – the release of English whiskies.

The brand is currently aging its whisky for three years using sherry butts, ex-bourbon casks, and new medium toast white French oak casks. The wheat used in the production process is sourced from the estate itself, ensuring a truly local and sustainable approach.

The brand is taking its time to perfect the whisky, with a planned release in two to three years. As the distillery says, “We will not release until we have an exemplary product that represents our spirit profile.” This commitment to quality is admirable, and I, for one, cannot wait to taste the fruits of their labor.
Ramsbury is also launching an eaux de vie at the Newbury Agricultural Show this year. This innovative spirit is created by redistilling the beer that wasn’t sold at last year’s event. This approach not only reduces waste but also showcases the brand’s dedication to sustainability.
