New Whiskey Releases to Get Excited About
As whiskey enthusiasts, we’re always on the lookout for new and exciting releases to add to our collections. This week, we’re shining the spotlight on three fantastic new whiskeys from Milam & Greene, Breckenridge, and Copperworks.
Milam & Greene Unveils Two New Expressions
Texas-based Milam & Greene Whiskey has just released two new expressions that are sure to get your attention. The first is the Cardinal Single Barrel, a 6-year-old bourbon that’s part of the brand’s Wildlife Collection. This collection is a liquid-led exploration of Texas wildlife and how it impacts the aging of bourbon.
The Cardinal Single Barrel is a 6-year-old bourbon with a rich, complex flavor profile.
The Cardinal Single Barrel was distilled from a mash bill comprising 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley and matured in Tennessee for six years and seven months before being brought to Texas for a final 18-month maturation period. The result is a whiskey with a rich, complex flavor profile featuring notes of honey, Nila wafers, cherry cordial, and marshmallow fluff on the nose, and pecan sandie cookies, creamed cornbread, and baking spices on the palate.
The second release from Milam & Greene is the Distillery Edition Batch 5: 5 Year Old, a grain-to-glass bourbon that’s been distilled in a 300-gallon copper still. This bourbon has been aged for five years, three months, and eight days, and boasts a flavor profile featuring notes of coffee, fresh-cut grass, graham cracker, almond, baking spice, cherry cobbler, and chocolate malt.

Breckenridge Says “Different is Dope!”
Breckenridge Distillery in Colorado has just released the fourth edition in its Collectors Art Series, a collaboration with Los Angeles-based artist Abby Wren. Wren’s message of “Different is Dope!” is particularly close to her heart, as it has allowed her to express herself through different mediums since losing her hair to the autoimmune disease, alopecia.

The new bottling has been finished in Sauternes casks and boasts aromas of white peach, apricot, caramel, with oak and vanilla on the nose. On the palate, expect notes of butterscotch and reminiscent orange, beautiful oak finishes with notes of vanilla and white pepper spice.
Copperworks Releases a New Oak Matured Single Malt
Finally, Copperworks Distilling Co. has unveiled a new single cask American single malt whiskey. Distilled from the distillery’s five-malt recipe, this single malt was matured exclusively in new American charred oak, resulting in a rich and robust flavor profile.

According to Vice President and Co-Owner Jeff Kanof, the tasting notes feature vanilla cream-filled doughnut, citrus, and tropical fruit on top of deeper scents of leather and pipe tobacco on the nose. This whiskey has considerable heft across the palate, bittersweet with notes of dark chocolate, orange flambé, and dark brown sugar. Long and lingering, the finish continues the citrus thread with subtle florality and lingering dark chocolate bitterness.
These new releases are sure to get your whiskey collection off to a great start. Whether you’re a fan of bourbon, single malt, or something a little different, there’s something here for everyone.
