Jack Daniel’s, the renowned Tennessee whiskey brand, has introduced a new addition to its Distillery Series: Selection #13 Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey. This limited-release expression is a testament to the brand’s commitment to innovation and experimentation.
The whiskey is crafted from a mashbill of 70% rye, 12% malted barley, and 18% corn, resulting in a spirit that showcases the perfect balance of spiciness and boldness. According to Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher, “Our Tennessee Rye is a take on rye whiskey that is uniquely Jack Daniel’s.”
“The 70% rye grain bill allows the whiskey to shine through with just the right amount of spiciness and boldness. We’re excited to add a limited-edition expression to our rye lineup with this release, which introduces the whiskey to a second barreling to create a profile with even more depth and character.”
This double-oaked rye whiskey is bottled at 107 proof and has a suggested retail price of $41.99 per 375-milliliter bottle. The whiskey undergoes Jack Daniel’s signature charcoal mellowing process and is then aged in an American white oak barrel that is newly charred. After the initial maturation period, the whiskey is transferred to an additional new charred American oak barrel for 2.5 years, resulting in a rich and complex flavor profile.
