Introducing Baby Jane Bourbon: A Game-Changer in the World of Whiskey
Widow Jane Distillery, the award-winning artisanal distillery from Brooklyn, has just announced the release of Baby Jane Bourbon, a small-batch, hand-assembled blend of bourbons that is set to revolutionize the whiskey industry.
The Story Behind Baby Jane
In 2013, Widow Jane’s Head Distiller Sienna Jevremov and Operations Lead Michele Clark embarked on a journey to create a truly unique whiskey. They were obsessed with heirloom corn, which they believed would yield an intense whiskey flavor and a creamy mouthfeel. After meeting with local farmer John Gill, they began experimenting with different strains of heirloom corn, eventually developing their own proprietary strain, dubbed “Baby Jane.”
The Making of Baby Jane Bourbon
Baby Jane Bourbon is made using Widow Jane’s proprietary “Baby Jane” corn, which is cooked low and slow, fermented, and distilled in a 1000-liter pot and column hybrid single pass still in Brooklyn, and then gently placed into new, charred American oak barrels. The result is a bourbon rich with notes of honeycomb, cream soda, salty air, and green grape, with a finish that is both long and satisfying.
A New Standard for Everyday Sipping Bourbons
Baby Jane Bourbon is non-chill filtered and proofed with pure limestone mineral water from the legendary Rosendale Mines of New York, which contributes to its round mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish. At 45.5% ABV and an SRP of $50/750 ml, Baby Jane Bourbon is an affordable luxury that is perfect for sipping neat, over a large rock, or in a cocktail such as the Sweet Jane, a riff on a whiskey sour developed by the Widow Jane Distillery bar team.
