Indri Whisky: A Taste of India in the UK
As a whisky enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting expressions to try. That’s why I’m thrilled to hear that Indri Whisky, an award-winning Indian whisky, is finally available in the UK. Produced by Piccadily, India’s largest independent malt spirits producer, Indri Whisky has been making waves in the international market since its launch in 2022.
A Taste of India
Indri Whisky’s flagship expression, Trini, is a masterclass in blending. Comprising whiskies matured in three different types of casks - ex-bourbon, ex-French wine, and ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry - Trini is a complex and nuanced dram that showcases the best of Indian whisky-making. The result is a fruitier, sweeter, and nuttier profile that’s sure to delight even the most discerning palate.
“This three-wood marriage allows for each cask to contribute its unique taste, without overshadowing the original Whisky’s flavour.”
Dru: A Cask-Strength Delight
But Trini isn’t the only expression worth trying. Indri Dru, a cask-strength whisky matured in selected ex-bourbon barrels, is a real showstopper. Named after a vessel in ancient mythology that was filled with a drink and offered to the Gods, Dru is a complex and long-finishing whisky that’s sure to awaken your senses.
“The end result is a complex and fairly long, mixed fruit finish and a true awakening of the senses.”
A Limited Edition Treat
And for the true connoisseurs out there, a limited number of Indri Diwali expressions will be available exclusively to selected customers. Distilled from peated six-row barley and matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, Diwali is a globally recognized and award-winning expression that’s not to be missed.
