Glenmorangie Unveils Exclusive 25-Year Scotch Finished in Pommard Wine Casks

Glenmorangie, the renowned whisky distillery, has recently introduced a limited-edition 25-year-old scotch whisky that underwent a unique finishing process in Pommard wine casks. This exclusive release, available only at London’s Heathrow Airport, comprises just 1,000 bottles, each priced at approximately $2,650. The whisky, with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 51.6%, spent a decade maturing in bourbon barrels before a 15-year finish in the distinctive Pommard red wine casks.

Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, expressed his passion for Burgundian wines from Pommard, which served as the inspiration behind this exceptional whisky. Lumsden’s experimentation with Pommard wine casks since 2008 culminated in a complex and aromatic whisky with notes of lemon sherbet, plums, cherries, honey, red apples, honeydew melon, ginger, and milk chocolate.

This release showcases Glenmorangie’s commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, following the success of their earlier Barrel Select Series expression finished in French Calvados casks. The brand’s dedication to exploring diverse cask finishes underlines their pursuit of excellence in the whisky industry.
