Glenmorangie Unveils a Unique Blend of Three Scotch Whiskies

Glenmorangie, a renowned Scottish distillery, has recently introduced a new blend of three scotch whiskies, each aged in a distinct type of cask. This innovative approach has resulted in a whisky that showcases a harmonious balance of flavors.

The Blend: A Celebration of Fruity and Savory Notes

The final blend is composed of whiskies that were aged in a mixture of bourbon, new charred oak, and rye whisky casks, which are rarely used in scotch production. According to Glenmorangie Master Blender Gillian Macdonald, “Using bourbon and new charred oak, we celebrate our whisky’s classic, fruity sweetness. Laced with the savory notes and subtle spice of rye whiskey casks – seldom used at Glenmorangie – this whisky brings a new balance of flavors to our core range.”

The whisky boasts tropical fruit aromas, with notes of candied orange peel and other citrus fruits. The palate is creamy, with fudgy notes and flavors of marzipan and spice. The whisky concludes richly sweet and is heavily structured.

Inspired by the Highlands’ Natural Splendor

Glenmorangie’s latest release is inspired by the breathtaking natural beauty of the Highlands. With an ABV of 40% and a suggested retail price of £33 ($41), this whisky is an excellent addition to any whisky collection.

Glenmorangie’s Commitment to Innovation

This release follows Glenmorangie’s March release of a 25-year-old whisky finished in Pommard wine casks. Pommard is a type of clone that produces Pinot Noir wine and is also the name of a village in Burgundy known for making Pinot Noir. Glenmorangie’s director of whisky creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden, has a fondness for Burgundian wines from Pommard.

With this new release, Glenmorangie continues to push the boundaries of whisky production, experimenting with unique cask combinations to create innovative flavor profiles.
