Hibiki Takes Centre Stage: A Celebration of Harrods’ 175th Anniversary

The world of luxury and sophistication has come together in perfect harmony, as The House of Suntory collaborates with the iconic Harrods department store to launch an exquisite limited-edition whisky. To commemorate Harrods’ 175th anniversary, a mere 175 individually numbered bottles of Hibiki Japanese Harmony Harrods 175th Anniversary Edition will be released, available exclusively at Harrods.

Harrods, located in the heart of London, has been a beacon of luxury and refinement since 1834. Founded by Charles Henry Harrod, the store has evolved over the years to become a treasure trove of exclusive goods, including The House of Suntory’s prestigious whisky collection. This collaboration between two icons of luxury is a testament to their shared vision of excellence and dedication to craft.

The Hibiki Japanese Harmony, a blend of whisky from Suntory’s Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita distilleries, is a staple of Harrods’ luxury collection. This new collaboration celebrates the refined and timeless luxury of both Harrods and Hibiki.

The limited-edition bottle features stunning artwork that blends Harrods’ heritage with Suntory’s luxury branding. The design includes a peacock, a motif from Harrods’ food halls since the 1900s, and a tealeaf, representing Harrods’ origins as a tea merchant in 1849. The packaging also includes Harrods’ motto, “Omnia Omnibus Ubique,” meaning “All Things for All People Everywhere.”

André Lewis, Head of Buying for Food, Wine, & Spirits at Harrods, noted that “this exclusive release combines the craftsmanship of Suntory whisky with the heritage of Harrods. The Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a fitting tribute to our legacy, reflecting our commitment to excellence.”

The Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky is a masterclass in balance and harmony, offering a nose of lychee, rosemary, and sandalwood, followed by a palate of honey-like sweetness, candied orange peel, and white chocolate, and a subtle finish with hints of Mizunara oak.

The Hibiki Japanese Harmony Harrods 175th Anniversary Edition will be available exclusively at Harrods for £255 (43% ABV, 70cl).
